Hi everyone! I purchased 4 silkies for myself and 3 Tolbubt Polish for my friend from a local poultry gathering. Two of the silkies are beautiful and good quality (the blue and the buffs with top knots and obvious beards). 2, not so much. The other blue one appears to be a smooth feather silkie or a mix (has 5 toes). There is also the most pathetic black one that is clearly a very poor quality silkie (has a itty bitty single comb, split wings, and is so small). Really hoping that some are pullets (especially the poor quality one with the single comb because it’s my favorite). Pretty sure the one with smooth wings is a roo (and it sure acts like it). It fights mostly with the buff one, so I’m concerned buff one is a roo too. I suppose only time will tell with silkies.

As for the Tolbunts, I got them for my friend. We are hoping that at least 1 is a hen, and I feel pretty sure that the one with the almost pure white crest is a female. I suspect the other 2 are Roos. What do ya’ll think?

Thanks in advance. I’m loving all these little fall chick snuggles.

Still much too young to guess gender, especially for silkies and polish. They need to be at least 8-12 weeks, sometimes more before they can be more accurately sexed.
Cute photos though! :D
I like your pathetic silkie too, super cute :love
