Silkies & Dark Brahmas - 3 HATCHED. Happy Ending :)

Day 8 Update:

After candling all of the eggs today, I was confident that the one with the air bubble was not developing. I cracked it open to check. Nothing going on with it. I'm sure 5 of the eggs have embryos growing in them. There is 1 I am unsure of, but I see some veining so I think there's a good chance of a growing embryo.

Funny that the same exact thing happened with my Araucana eggs tonight too. It's like deja vu.

Day 11 Update:

The 1 egg I was unsure of was not viable. I think the P.O. scrambled that one pretty good too. However, I am happy to report that 3 remaining Silkies and the 2 Dark Brahmas are developing quite nicely.

Looking forward to seeing the little peepers popping out of their shells!

And actually, I have a question. I realized today that one of the eggs is turned upside down. Should I turn it right side up so that the air cell is at the top, or should I leave it go and hope it finds the right way out once I take the eggs off the turner on Day 18?

These guys are right on schedule. Day 21 and we have our first pip! See right along the top edge of the egg?

This is one of the Dark Brahma eggs, but I also see one of the Silkies rocking back and forth quite a bit. I think it helps that I have the Araucanas' brooder right next to the hatcher, and the chicks in the eggs can hear the other chicks peeping. It's almost like encouraging them to hatch.

Cass, simply put, your pictures never cease to amaze me!
