just been to church. it helped me get some perspective. the service was about india and water supply and how many children were dying because of disease in dirty water supplies. i thought about how precious out chickens are and how we seek to provide them with clean water. right now i am caring for a pullet , feeding her mealworms and antibiotics. i remembered the verse where Jesus said ''you are worth more than many sparrows''. i am feeling less sorry for myself.

i have ordered some more eggs ms steak. the incubator is running with duck eggs so what is another 6 eggs in there!!

hugs to any other discouraged chicken lover.

hi ms steak.
i lost white silkies. i have an incubator with 12 runner duck eggs in so have bought 6 gold silkie to add (timing will work ok since the duck eggs take longer. debating adding 6 araucana to the mix. i am determined to get blue eggs. i have 2 cream legbar pullets and 2 skyline so some of those should lay blue or green eggs.

what hens do you keep? i also have some pekins and 3 hybrids. i love an array of different colours in both eggs and my girls.

I have 3 hybrids. I was talking about them today. 2 of them are 7 and the other is 6. One lays green eggs. They are getting on now. I am lucky they still lay I suppose.

Good luck with your golden silkies. The ones I have cooking are a mix of colours. I hope I get to see what comes out.

How exciting. Ducks! I am excited to see those.

hi
thanks for asking. i'm a bit better. i have the duckling eggs and 6 silkie eggs to add to the incubator. i will be happy if some of each hatch.

how's your chick? are you hatching any more?
