Hi MGA, sorry I have no experience with this!
Is it possible she got an injury? Even a peck in her eye could cause cloudiness. I would wash out with water and look closely for any wound marks. Hopefully others will be along with a lot more experience!

The first thing I would check is that the cloudiness in the eye isn't caused by the wiper membrane being stuck.
Chickens have 3 eyelids; one that closes form the top, one that closes from the bottom and a semi transparent lid that moves from side to side that keeps the eye clean.
A close examination with a magnifying glass might help you discover if what you are seeing is the third membrane stuck shut.

Chickens can suffer blindness from injuries, infections, from vitamin deficiency, from diseases, such as ocular Mareks disease and AE (avian encephalomyelitis,) and from cataracts. Have you ever had Mareks or an unusual death in any of your chickens? It would be hard to know for sure what the cause was, but both AE and Mareks can cause the grey eye. Hopefully, it is just another cause. She should be able to get along okay as long as she can find food and water. My Polish hen who was blind in an eye would occasionally go outside the gate and we had to sometimes go and find her.

Thanks for all your replies
Cragg me either it's way beyond my learning curve but I'm learning!
Shad I will use a magnifying glass and take a closer look
Egg I realize there are so many diseases it hard to pick one...no I never had a chicken die instantly...she healthy otherwise
