Kay Kay is either sticking as Kay Kay of becoming Kane, he actually sat on my shoulder for pet time; Cee Cee, on the other hand did his best attempt at spurring me the moment I entered the coop... He then ran away from me and into the fence. I think they have pretty poor vision because of those big muffs on top of their heads. Do you guys ever clip those feathers or something to help them see better?

Yes, I trim my silkies feathers (I have a Naked Neck who doesn't need his feathers trimmed). Otherwise, they seem to have trouble seeing treats, other chickens, and predators and can easily be startled. Birds have better vision then people (some can see UV light), so I like to make sure my silkies don't have a blocked view.

Its kind of fun to give birds a little hair trim.

I'll have to try that sometime; I have already have to give my Silkie roo Stevie a bath after he kept slipping in the mud so why not a hair cut too :)
