Hello!
I have four silkies ( 1 rooster 3 hens) that I have had for a while now. They are very sweet and follow me around the yard and are constantly jumping into my lap to get pet. That was until 2 weeks ago. Two of my hens have started to run and peck at me, hard enough that I have little cuts on my legs! I've given them the boot and it doesn't deter them. Do any of you guys know whats causing my fluffies to turn into pecking machines? Any advice is greatly appreciated

The Silkies are 3-4 months old. They haven't started laying yet and their not nesting so I am pretty sure they are not going broody. They have been in the same environment they've been in since I got them.

UPDATE:
It turns out one of my evil silkies as they've come to be known is a rooster! Our one silkie I knew was a rooster has a really funny crow that sounds like a mix between a cat howling and a rooster crowing underwater. We thought it was improving but when I went down to the coop to let them out today and Kay Kay let out a crow! I'm pretty sure one of my other silkie "hens" is a rooster too as "she" looks exactly the same as my other two roosters and nothing like the one silkie I have that I'm positive is a hen.

Yeah, when I got five silkies the two I thought were females turned out to be roosters and the three I thought were roosters turned out to be hens. I guess that's just how it works with silkies.

We use to have more silkies, but we lost two to predators and another to a respiratory infection.

However, the naming was very interesting. Azul (meaning blue in Spanish) got to keep his name even though he turned into a rooster, so that worked out. However, poor Flo was suppose to be a "showgirl" silkie and turned out to be a rooster. He still has the name.

Prince turned into Princess, Cole and Toto turned out to be hens, but the names still fit them. Mavis I think turned out to be a hen like I wanted (finally!). Some of the names I choose can work for either boys or girls, like Captain, Yosemite, Liberty, ect. However, I've had to get use to name changing from the very beginning. With Dottie I just stuck a Mr. at the beginning, and he became Mr. Dottie.
