Silkies - Guess the Gender

Quote:
I have a splash rooster.....no splash girls. I do have some other colored silkies, but i would like to ultimately have a blue/splash coop of silkies. I have some breeds to barter with....but it looks like i will just be buying some eggs from a breeder in the spring. I think you need some too

yes i know who tom is my first flock of silkies i hatched from him and i bought them on the old byc board but i don't have any of them anymore. i got 17 partridge mixed color babies out of 21 eggs to my surprise, lol(that's alot of babies from shipped eggs that far away)i sold my first flock of all my different breeds and started all over again but i keep my 100+ new flock at a friends outside of town now.

Oh no.... more cute silkies!!!! ARGH!

I want me a splash... but I'm going to wait until I get my buffs started breeding in the spring. Maybe I could trade come that time.

Hello realsilkiechick - i'm not quite sure what the generation thing means. Would that be how many breedings from the original NN/Silkie cross? If that is the case, i don't know. i hatched my girls (and boy showgirl and regular silkie) from eggs purchased on eggbid from a nice man named John Bergquist. i had a very good hatch rate, and think my chicks are gorgeous. The one male showgirl did start to develop cross beak. i adopted him out, not because of that, but because i had two roosters and didn't want to keep both. i actually ended up adopting out my gorgeous silkie roo, also, as the crowing was driving my husband crazy. i guess i only get to have hens.

They are adorable! Isn't if funny how they act like roos right from the beginning sometimes.
I knew from day one that my bossy little d'uccle was a boy, he was no bigger than a cotton ball but he was cocky and fearless.
