Silkies Of A Different Color

Thanks! Well you can take pride in him too because he is from a Sizzle boy i got from you :D

I really like your Sizzle cockerel.  He has a very nice body shape, short back, small comb.  I don't have a clue what his color is, but then i don't know what color most of mine are either!!  lol  Anyway, if you can find some nice smooth Sizzle girls to go with him, I bet he'll give you some really nice chicks.

Thank you all for the nice comments & the help with colors. Sonoran, if the blue/gold pullet isn't a true lemon blue, could I go ahead & show her as that anyway & just have points deducted for bad color, or should I make up a name (like maybe blue/gold) & show her as that. She can only be shown as AOV anyway so not sure if it makes a difference. Here is a different view of her, but may not show her any better. She does have a kind of lacy pattern on the chest.

If the one below is blue or lavender partridge, wouldn't she have some partridge pattern somewhere? I thought her pattern was porcelain, but just a bit too dark. The pic on the left below is her with her sister & she is the one on the right. It was taken a couple of months ago & as you can see from the more recent picture on the right, she has lightened up considerably. Still not as light as sis, but maybe getting there? Is porcelain the same as blue cream?

Thanks Sonoran for the info on the buff. That sure is a hard color! Just when I thought I was making progress, that light undercoat started showing up. I even had a batch with a lot of white all around the hackles & the wing feathers. Maybe I should forget the regular buffs & go for the white neck & tail & call the color Palomino!! lol

Some of you guessed this as cockerel because of the red but she's laying eggs so definitely a girl. I had several just like her - lots of red & I figured them for roos but they're all hens..Maybe I accidentally discovered a sex-link color! lol

I even came up with a pink champaign color.

I think these are all "oops" breedings after a show last November & all the show birds were quarantined together. All sexes, all colors, with nothing better to do than make "whoopee" all day long. After I separated everyone I guess I didn't wait long enough to start hatching their eggs. I was hoping I might be able to show them as porcelains or some other AOV color but oh well. They may be NAC (Not Acceptable Color) but everyone seems to like them so guess they'll go in my "fun experimental color" pen.

Thanks again for all the help.

Oh my gosh! That is really funny because the more I looked at him I kept thinking that he really looked a lot like some of my Sizzle roos. Have you shown him or his father?

No I haven't shown either of them. The Dad has a very red super big comb and he carries cuckoo so blotchy skin. The son is an improvement in skin and comb but I thought the comb was still really red although it is significantly darker than dad's. What do you think?
This is dad:

country, do you sell and ship hatching eggs? I'd probably pee myself if I got a pullet like your blue girl, I'm in love with her :love

My birthdays coming up and my mom keeps asking me what I want, I'm thinking some hatching eggs would make a great b-day present :celebrate

what do you guys mean silkies of a different color ?? just a color people made or something ???  only colors I have right now is a silver partridge and a black mate (im trying to get white from them) and then I have a buff base partridge base and a blue mate .. I got 2 blues (one vaulted skull blue) and one black .. that was from my buff one and blue one .. but she was mated before I got her from my friends better quality blue silkie roo

what people mean by silkies of a different color is not mixed silkies with diferent birds but pure silkies that just have an odd coloring

Are there any breeders of Salmon silkies that are willing to sell chicks or juveniles? Interested in this beautiful variety. LOVE Brdie Broodiello's beautiful boy she posted. Looking for something with that coloring.
