Sorry, I haven't seen any info on what color they are. I would love to know if they are off colored, poorly colored or something exciting. If anyone knows, id love to hear what they would be considered.
So.......is gray a recognized color? All of my Silkies are B/B/S. What am I gonna do with this little one? I guess I'm gonna hafta find some more grays.

I have a gray pullet too. Her father is Lavender and mother is black. I can't wait to breed her to a black/split lavender roo I have and see if I get 50% lavender babies. I'm sure I'll get other grays too.
Who knows about smokey, the dominant white allele I^s? The chicken calculator calls it recessive to wildtype i+, which doesn't make much sense if it is called "dominant" white! I hatched several silver partridge chicks from a black pair, and of the two survivors of that phoenotype, one grew up black and one didn't. Other than smokey, what could she be? I have entertained the idea that the cock that made this bird is really a dark blue, but I would have 1/2 blue chicks, right? Not 1/50.

Is the one on the left, in each photo, I^s/I^s? And can it come from two black parents? Or what happened here and what do I do with it? It's only one particular pairing of Silkies that made this, that cock over any other hen always made black.
Page 18, post 179 I asked about a "white on white" colored silkie cockerel with light eyes. Is there no one on here willing, who can help me with this birds color or genetics? He was born 3mos ago w/2 others. His color was strange at birth, but as he matures it's become more of a 'white on snow white'. I would appreciate anyone who has experience with this, what it is, and is this LIKE pearl? Thanks again for your time.
