Silkies Of A Different Color

Pics
I took in this silkie rooster as a favor for a friend. I for sure know he's NOT SQ, but was hoping to have someone tell me what color he is? I also took in a Buff Roo, which I have posted pics of on the buff thread, if someone would like to take a look at him too.

The friend I get my eggs from doesn't have cochin chickens. I have 2 cochins and they lay light-medium brown eggs.
It came from a small off-white egg that we selected from her black silkie and her partridge silkie. It's either black

or black-partridge

.
It has grey-black feathered legs and at least half it's beak is black.
I'll know soon, all the silkies I've hatched from my friends chickens start feathering out within 3 weeks.

Thank you for trying tho,
Kat

Are they really big? If so, I don't think they are roaches, I have always called them water bugs. I like to turn the lights on at night and watch the chickens go crazy trying to catch them. If they are roaches, I'm blowing up my property

I don't do roaches

There are many kinds and sizes of cockroaches. The German ones are fairly small, Palmetto bugs are huge and there are others that are in between.

It is the Palmetto bugs that I have outside, they are huge! This is what I consider a cockroach

Time to get the birds some night vision so they can see to eat them lol....
Wonder if those come in extra extra extra small. Might be a little top heavy strapped around there heads tho.

That looks like a cochin or an aussie baby. Doesn't look like a silkie to me. Doesn't have black skin.

Whatever breed it is, it's going to be black.

it looks just like our little black jap bantam babies so yes I agree it will be black!
