Exactely she and also he are to light for gray breeding.
The reason is these "light" have the gene "Co" which gray can't have for their correct pattern.

Forgot to say I like your "Frosts" Resemble what can happen if you breed many generations of gray x white, but gray x white after many generations shows more silver where the white appears on your "Frosts"​

Indeed this mail Silver Quail is free of Autosomale red (which is a diificult thing to get out of the breed). Also the hen is free of Autosomale red.
Silver Quail should not have the pencilling of the pattern gene "Pg". Their genetic-code should be eb/eb S/S*S/- Co/Co Ml/Ml (no Pg).

!! Color-genes not mix as fluids !!
Dominant color-genes express already (incomplete) heterozygous (in single doses, ex. Co/co+) in the phenotype and completely when homozygous (in double doses, ex. Co/Co).
Recessive color-genes express ONLY in the phenotype when homozygous (in double doses, ex. c/c) They never express in heterozygous (in single doses, ex. C+/c)

PS Silver is not white ! Silver is the mutation of gold. White is colorless (without color-pigment).

I posted pics of my friends males. First I've seen older not showing auto red.
And going for the Standard also doing a great job of breeding out pencilling. MANY are silver pencilleds here and shouldnt be. the females and males are litter with gold and red hers are not.

Do you see any similarities your black heads?

Its wonderful to here from someone overseas that enjoys and is actively breeding as your user names suggests silver and silkies.​

So let me ask a salient question. If "gray" truly is silver based partridge, it would have to have the pattern gene, would it not. This would mean that "gray" by the American SOP could not be a silver partridge, but a different genetic pattern altogether.

One reason I declined trying to raise "gray" is that the American SOP describes the "solid chinchilla gray" and this is impossible to achieve with a silver partridge....and it SHOULD be impossible to achieve since partridge has the pattern gene.
