Silkies Of A Different Color

I just have two white crested black pullets, 13 weeks old. They are the funniest chickens with the quirkiest personalities! I love the tolbunts. They are beautiful!
I may cross my polish to my silkie boy as well.😊
My silkies are 19 weeks old right now.

Is the first white one hatchery stock? I'm thinking mine is but haven't seen many photos to compare her to.

My polish are hatchery stock, but turned out pretty nice. My silkies I hatched from eggs from a breeder, who has show quality birds. First white one is a pullet and is non bearded. All the others are bearded.:)

Ahh ok. She has almost blue skin, and feet and beak, rather than black. And a very small crest, while my roo from a breeder has black feet, beak skin, and a large crest. Is it just the gender difference?

Post photos of them! No, not a gender difference. Hatchery stock tend not to have all the desired silkie qualities, but you can find nice ones as well. They tend to have smaller crests and not be quite as "puffy" overall.:)

That's a old pic of the roo- sadly almost all his afro feathers have been plucked :(. His name is Bubbles
Edit: Could you tell me what "color" he is? I was thinking black, but he seems to match blue more. It's not visible in that pic, but he also has gold leakage on the neck and back.

Are you planning to breed them? If so, post the offspring here, could be fun to see what you get. :)
Yep! Bubbles has crowed, and I think around 6.5 months now, but I haven't the slightest clue to how old Blue is. I got her 3 months ago, supposedly she was going to lay any day... for all I know, she's 8 years old and I'll never see any eggs from her.

Well it is not unheard of for silkies not to lay until even over a year of age. Average is 7-9 months. :)
