Silkies Of A Different Color

Oh! Oh! Is my boy the first or the second one or both? Wow, so nice to see them!

Here are pictures of my project birds, just taken today.
Brody, your females I would guess if they are salmon should look similar to my wheaten pullet. Mine are probably about 5 months old now. Not sure why the silver wheaten is non bearded though, all parents are bbearded.

Brody, what is the difference between a white and your "pearl" ? Is it something the camera doesn't show up or what? I really like what you are doing with the unusual colors!

Smoky73, those Wheaten Silkies are beautiful! I've never seen this color in silkies before and I think it's great! (Got Eggs?)

Sorry no, they were produced by some oddity and came from black parents. I will be trying to mate back to the father this spring to see what will happen, seeing I do not own a male wheaten. People have gotten black sikie eggs from me int he past and have gotten wheatens on occasion, but they are ALWAYS females, no males.

Brody's Pearl rooster is actually a silver gened white, a true Pearl color, as seen and noted in birds in other countries are called lavenders in some areas, they are quite a bit darker even grey color .

Correct it is a Silver gened bird, that after a few generations of breeding will become alot darker. I have a friend who actually has a few. The first gen is only partly smokey, as this bird is. But there are a few breeders who are working on this color. I didn't name it, just was corrected by those that are really pursueing it that that iwhat they are calling it, at least until the governing bodies decide they have to call it something else.LOL
