Finally making my way over to the silkie thread!

My 8 week olds are starting to fluff out now. I can’t get over their cuteness and how sweet they are!

I got them around 1.5 weeks old. The two on the bottom are boys (crowed at 6.5 & 7.5 weeks respectively lol). I’m positive the top right is a girl. The top left I feel is a boy as well but only time will tell for sure!

We didn’t know there were silkie colours other than white (we had two white once upon a time) so the lady we got them from said she’d “give us one of each colour”. Given the adults she had I *think* these are all partridge x white mixes. They all have some variations in their wings (and the lightest two have slightly greyish tails). They’re just pets so we don’t mind the non SOP colouring! I’m absolutely obsessed with these little guys and am already plotting how to convince my husband we need more!

Apologies for the quality of these photos. I interrupted snack time and they were not being cooperative lol.

Oww so sweet! They're gorgeous 😍
Do they have names?
They do! They don’t necessarily make sense anymore because their colouring changed so much from one week old.

Top Left - Party (he looked like the textbook partridge chick colouring)
Top Right - Storm (she was actually pale yellow with significant light grey at one week)
Bottom Left - Ghost (he was all white)
Bottom Right - Loud Mouth (he never shut up haha and then crowed at 6.5 weeks so it’s still fitting!)

Such cute names! They are pretty even if not SOP! I have a hatch as we speak of all BUFFS!! Ive tried 4 different hatches to get just 1 buff and no luck so these are all buffs!!!

That’s so lucky! Once I realized what the SOP colours were I started looking into buffs because they’re so pretty. They seem to be a lot harder to find (at least around here).

@Hinotori of the first 4 eggs hatched from my F1 gals x Silkie roo, I got two looking more like silkies, the other two are hard feathered wings.. The one on top, and the one to the right have split feathers on the wings.. So I lucked out. There are 4 more younger siblings that are just now starting to get wing feathers.. Another week and we should see if the 50/50 rule holds. I'm pleased none the less. btw, that lil stinker on the left is a brownish grey. Offspring of the hatching hen.
