Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Does anyone know the weights of their roos? The sweet white dude who came with the hens seem quite underweight, as in he is even lighter then the smallest hen (Silver one).

From everyone’s experience, how common is leakage in black silkies? One of the black chicks I hatched is starting to get some leakage but I know the breeder I got the eggs from is religious about separate coops.

Is this something that can pop up randomly for generations?

I don't breed blacks on purpose so have no idea. Never saw it in BBS when I had those, but I have had weird mutations pop up a couple times in my partridge so it should be possible.

I don't concidered what I have as black anyway because I don't know what's going on with them. They shouldn't be that color...

1 of my black chicks was born with an autosomal red spot on head. my silkies are black and black silver so no idea where autosomal red came from. I don't breed for colour.
