I'm actually working on this project right now. True Porcelain silkies. I'm starting with "satins" of course to make sure the pattern is right before I take the line back to silkied. Will be doing frizzle in there too. Quite excited to get Hatching on this one actually!

But shouldn't "blue cream" be called Isabella? Isn't blue cream buff x partridge x lavender? Or am I thinking of something else?

Just buff and lavender for blue cream. I have no idea how name was settled on

If I remember correctly, buff was developed from partridge. There is a visual difference between buff x lavender and partridge x lavender. I could tell on my birds, but if someone isn't used to the colors they probably couldn't tell. Im assuming that difference is from the genes for the patterning and the darker tail.

My chicks are 12 weeks now. About half of them have quit peeping so far.

The little blue partridge with the nice red head that I was so excited about that looked boyish, is a girl. I'm never going to get a red headed boy with the blue gene.

I do have 2 cockerels marked as potentials because of their personality. Relaxed and pretty calm when I go to pick them up. They just stand there and just vocally protest being picked up. Can't tell color quality yet, but wings and all are good.

Maybe good to try breeding a cockerel to light hens. I have a few I want to see how they turn out. This is the lightest of the boys.
