Here's what it is now.

Yup, partridge of some kind. Its front is solid, that creme color. I should have gotten more pictures but had it up there for two minutes and I was freezing my tush off lol. Pretty sure a pullet but too early to be sure.

@CrazyForMyPeeps802 pretty darn close! https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/silkies-they’re-simply-spectacular.1334299/post-27952245

That's a girl. Boys only look like that to about 8 weeks. At that point they start getting the teen feathers in

Four more baby showgirls :) Suprised I didn't get any strippers tbh, though I want showgirls more than them so it's all good😅

Just got a Silkie rooster from a family friend, wow, who knew they were as soft as silk?? Now on the hunt for a few pullets or hens in Central Texas to join him.

Honestly, pretty glad to get one of the few breeds with a morphism that is not common to all chickens. The 5th toe is pretty neat, genetically speaking I have been informed it is different than the 5th toe of the Dorking chicken and its descendants but still, pretty neat to get one with 5 toes!

Yes. Different mutations resulted in the polydactyl in the unrelated breeds. Both are very old breeds.

I sold a beautiful blue based partridge silkie hen who was responsible for single comb chicks. it seems that only cockerels had single combs. is it maybe sex linked?

her new owner wants her for her beauty, not for breeding so everyone is happy.
