I'm so eggcited! They better hatch because d'uccles are eggspensive! They'll arive tommorow or the day after- then I'll do the 24hr rest.
(Sorry about the terrible puns)

Where do I put them for the 24hr rest?
Do you just leave them in a carton? I don't know because last time I had eggs shipped I didn't know about a 24 hour rest

I didn't either. So what do I do?
You should candle the eggs and inspect the aircells. If they are small, then let them sit pointy side down in a carton for 24 hours undisturbed. If they look large, then they are older and should only sit for 12 hours.😊

Just trying to make a ramp type thing from broody coop for Smokey, eggs due to hatch Tuesday... Do you think this will work?.. rope tied around for better grip? Any suggestions? (.. the other side of the coop that has a ramp is blocked by the 2nd broody on eggs) do you think chicks could manage that ramp ok?

Chicks should be able to navigate this.😊

Are silkies good for eggs? (Sorry, I am looking at raising more chickens, to sell, for eggs, meat etc.) I am NOT going to raise silkies for meat obviously.
Sorry to laugh... Actually they are good layers for about 2-3 weeks, then often go broody for 2-3 months.😊
