They are quirky, 'special' in that endearing way, and never happier than when they have a chick to care for.... Except maybe bath time... Mine does love her bath time.

Thanks! the wind started blowing when I started to take them so I didn't get as many as I wanted to... Which is probably a good thing. I took around 300 pictures of Angel sitting in the same spot and probably 50 of Jade, plus the random chicken pictures I got yesterday added up to 492 photos. I had to start a new folder because my old one had over 2,000 pictures in it.

People often ask me how I get my chickens to stand still for photos.
I say I don’t, I just take a lot of photos, to get a few good ones.

You were once full of life, always cuddling with me when I had a bad day, making me smile and laugh at your cuteness. You did not deserve to die. You had so much left to live and I don't want this to be the end. You were the most curious chick I ever had but most important of all you were my best friend. I will miss you so much, my little furry angel.

I'm joining the incubating crew with 17 eggs from some of my paint and dominant white girls paired with a black from paint boy. I just put them in last night.

I'm not expecting 100% fertilization as only the one boy is covering 12 girls (and he does seem to have some favorites) but I'm still hopeful for a decent amount to be fertilized.

Only 3 eggs left out of 12 under Puff all others not fertile, just yolkers. Seems like alot of work for just 3 possible ones - if they all hatch! ..And probably end up being roosters!!
Hopefully the next broody will have all fertile eggs since things should settle down with Biscuit.

Biscuit is so good! He doesn't crow at night and only will start up his few minutes of crowing when I go up to the coop, Not early at sunrise! He's like the perfect rooster to keep the neighbours happy with undisturbed sleep
Now he just has to win the ladies over and give me more fertile eggs!
