Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

My silkies will purposely go out in the rain to get wet so they can see better. 3/4 of that run was covered.

Then others will bill water out to make mud to rub their heads in.

So who else loves the partridge color? Granted they are the easiest to sex.

I just wish people would actually OWN the breed before dissing it completely. Seriously, silkies are the best! Good egg layers (at least mine are), excellent broodies, and adorable! An occasional, what?, 5 minutes of your time to trim their crests really isn’t all that bad. Maybe others see it as bad because they don’t care about the well-being of the animal? Idk. And calling them "hawk bait" is just cruel. I’m being serious... that’s CRUEL! Would you call your hamster "snake bait"? No, probably not.


I don’t have an issue with people not liking the breed anymore, but wish they’d at least have OWNED it first.
