They're still young, id give them some time. Once my previous silkies mastered fly-hopping, they had no problem roosting, flying out of pens, hopping into my lap You can place them on the roost at night so they get the hang of it.

Yeah I've tried that n they fly down almost immediately. I put it at 24"...that shouldn't be too high right?

How do yall get your silkies to roost?
Idk if I have the roost bar too high or what the problem is.
The satin silkies are now 4 months old and still pile up in the corner of the coop.

Mine have access to a ramp that they can hop from onto the roost bars, it helped them gain the confidence to roost with the big girls Make sure they can see well, I have one that just refuses to go up the ramp because it's scary and I think it's cuz she can't see as well. She's also the one that freaks out when I try cutting some of her feathers...silkies man...

I pick them every evening. when I had silkies a few years ago they were in the same coop with a few other breeds and learned to roost from them.

a few of mine roost for the afternoon nap but never in the evening, lol. their roosts are low.

They are so precious!! How old are they?

The gold roo is 1 1/2 the black next to him is a little over half a yr, the frizzle next to her is younger then that. The red silky roo is almost a yr.

Update photos of my two “grow outs”
Lilikoi, the black, is now 16 weeks old. She is super friendly and follows me around.
Weighs 1.6 pounds and has a large vaulted skull. Because of this she recently had a little trim around her eyes.
14 week old Niko, the paint, is little shy but much friendlier than she was when she was a chick. Weighs 1.4 lbs and is non vaulted.
