Yall had to share with somebody that will appreciate the crazy "spiral staircase" in my run!
It ended up not quite going all the way back around so more of a "C". But they use it and it is so sweet!

I have not seen one. But who knows, anything is possible!

I had a small ramp for my broody coop but when mumma brings chicks out she can never get them to go back up, so she stays in the main coop which isn't as secure, so I've tried a couple blocks for stairs and hope the next hatch can work out how to go back up!

OK thought I should post photos of the two blue Silkie half siblings to Hotaru.

They are actually very nice shades of blue which I was hoping to be able to keep a few of. Only one has been DNA sexed the other we weren’t planning to keep, but she was left over from the last hatch. Pretty sure based on size and personality this one is female too, but then as we all know anything is possible!
They are both sweet, but don’t have the personality of Hotaru.
The slightly lighter shaded one is named Kumori (Cloudy) and the other one is named Sora (Sky). Sora has only four toes on one of her feet. Best way I’ll be able to tell them apart I suspect once they are feathered in.
I have my last batch of chicks hatching right now. Three of them are coming out backwards.
Have buyers for most of them, I’ll post photos when they’re hatched and fluffy!

@LadiesAndJane this is the little black chick from you...it had quite a bit of white as it is lightening up! U think it may be a dark blue instead of black?
The one to the left back there is the little blue...will try to get better pic today!

Well I think the hair cut helped out Cher Bear. Tonight she went in the coop at bedtime!!! I’m so proud of her!

Also maybe you can’t see it well, but I feel like Cher has a bit of white in her head feather fluff and on her butt fluff. Could this just be random feathers of a young pullet that will eventually change to full on solid black? Am I seeing things or do you see some white patches too? They’re so cute I had to take pictures

I'm not going to try to guess at blue vs black but there might be a slight possibility she's got some mottling going on.

Black birds can have some white areas that feather out but the areas she is getting them also seem more consistent with where mottling can start showing up on lightly mottled birds. If she is mottled when she molts the white should stay and may increase.

My lightly mottled chick has some white tipped behind fluff too. Sorry for the poor quality picture but hopefully it shows what I'm talking about.

Ezzie turns 6 weeks old tomorrow. Today is the first time she and her sisters get to spend outside. They are having a blast. I know it is still too soon to tell, but I keep hoping she's a girl.

Sorry to do the laughing reaction, it definitely wasn't meant to be mean spirited. I love my silkies but I can relate to the downsides too and understand they aren't for everyone.

I've seen some hate threads before but I don't think any that stayed or are currently active.

This is funny but super creepy too...
I hate that movie, saw the original decades ago but did not see the remake. Now if they had had Silkies and Polish in the remake, I may have dared to see it.
