Well Fred (polish roo) was trying to play whack a mole with Bambina's body (the silkie paint pullet). She is just so tiny, so he was able to swing her around by her crest, and wouldn't put her down. No damage, thankfully, but I found a new home for him. He will have 3 big polish girls to live with in a much larger area, so its a better fit. I think the enclosed run is just too limited with that many bodies running around. I still have Barney, the silkie paint roo, and he is super sweet with everyone. Of course Fred fell asleep while I was petting him before I put him in the box to leave. Had to make it a little more difficult for me on the way out! He is a sweet roo, just hormones are kicking in.

So now that chicken jail is empty, its now Elsa's turn! Hopefully a couple weeks in there will get her to quit bullying everyone. And hopefully, the others are happier not having to run screaming!
Ugh hormones! Real Thang and aint NO good! My very first roo was a Polish...named Polish lol! I was told he was a bantam but quite far from the silkie bantams I got from same guy. Polish quickly outgrew and matured everyone!
He was rehomed...and she just rehomed him this week as well...guess he has a few month window at each ones house.
I hate it for em but if they would/could just behave!

Thankfully this gal has a plan to let his hormones finish their surge for the next month before she integrates, plus she's got land for them to free range on. He is just not a good fit to be enclosed. But once you catch him, he just cuddles and sleeps!

So I've got this 6x12 run, and all the remaining chickens have squeezed into the 2x5 mini coop and don't want to leave! 🤣

Eko has the "time out tractor" when he pesters the girls too much!🤣
I put him there periodically during the day. He is there right now as a matter of fact. He gets to go back with his girls when it starts to get dark.😊

This one is 4‘ x 6‘ can easily have a couple of chickens in there. Use it for the grow outs too. It can be moved around the yard. It has hardware cloth skirting on two sides that I attach with 6 inch landscaping staples into the ground. I usually move it once a week or so, sometimes more often.😊
