It sounds just like my little Bambina! I just posted her size and pics right before your post. She was teenie as a chick and although she has grown, she is still a fraction of the normal size. She is just fine healthwise, so i think she's just petite!

This gives me hope! She is obviously my favorite. Somehow she is the bravest, sweetest, most adventurous of all my flock. And quiet! I can't hear her peeping unless she is in my lap.
The funniest thing was, she was the biggest of my silkie chicks. I made a joke about her being thicc.

Mine is so tiny, im afraid to hold her. She is so light i feel like I'll crush her, and she slips away so easily. So she is my least handled of all of them. But i just took her out of the run for pics and everyone else went nutso. So they definitely look out for her.

So shes super bright white, but she isn't happy to be held, so we are in the shade to keep her calm... she doesn't normally stand so tall either, but her and Barney were screaming bloody murder for each other.

I just weighed my Niko and Lilikoi that are similar in age to your Bambina. Lilikoi at 22 weeks weighs around 2 pounds (916 g) Niko at 20 weeks weighs 1.8 pounds
(822 g).
Their mom is on the smaller side but Eko is a big boy and weighs 3 1/2 pounds.

hi new to this thread i don't have silkies but i will soon they are coming on may 25th i choose hatchery choice because i couldn't decide what liked best i hope to get 2 hens but who knows
cant wait for them to get here

Hey silkie lovers. I have a question.

Have any of you had a silkie that just stopped growing around 3-4 weeks?

I have 3 7-week old silkies and 1 (the one in my profile pic) is now much smaller than her hatchmates. She seems to eat and drink as much as the others. Actually, I think she eats more. She gets around fine. She loves to be in my lap.

I am worried something is wrong though. She is like 1/3 the size of the other 2. Her feathers seem to be developing at the same time as the other two. She actually has purple-blue earlobes already, whereas the others don't.

Will she just be small? Or do you think there is something wrong that will shorten her lifespan?

If she is otherwise healthy, she is probably just small

Oww she's just gorgeous
I've had a few really light weight small ones too, like they are bantem or something stunted their growth

Most hatcheries carry BBS which is Blue/Black/Splash. Also recessive white and buff I would think!
Post photos when you get them and we can help you figure it out if needed.

My tiniest silkie passed away im amazed it lasted a week as it didnt grow at all, but rest are doing good
