My husband is not a fan of the Naked neck's in any varieties either. 😂 I think they are pretty adorable though and I'm really enjoying having them in the flock along with the regular silkies. :)

Hi there Silky lovers! I have 3 almost 15 wk Silkies that I need sexed. Could ya'll help me out? I think it is 2 roos and one hen. Sorry for the pics they don't like posing. View attachment 3111110View attachment 3111111View attachment 3111112View attachment 3111113

I go by streamers at this age usually as they are more likely to be accurate. Combs trick me sometimes as occasionally you'll get a girl with a pretty large one or a later developing boy with a very small one. There are cases where girls have obvious/long male like streamers but this is not common (I've grown out at least a hundred girls and never had a girl with long streamers myself). When streamers are first growing in it can be tough to tell them and a crest that is getting new feathers in apart sometimes though. Certain smaller crest types can make it difficult to see streamers in as well but I don't see that being a problem in your little ones. From the pictures I'm seeing a feminine crest with no streamers on one and looks like at least one has streamers. Going by their general body shapes two look more cockerel like as well. I'm guessing two boys and a girl might be right.

So.. i collected 7 eggs today, out of 8 girls! Which means everyone has started laying except for Bambina! Pebbles and Wilma, the tolbunts, both started in the last several days. Funny that little Betty the polkie was the first of the bunch.

Bambina has definitely filled out since i last weighed her. She is still small for a silkie, but looks to be about the same body size as the D'uccles.. just fluffier. So she is my late bloomer.. no squatting or wattles or significant changes just yet. I dread the thought of her trying to lay an egg with that little body!

Barney is.. well.. trying his best.. he really misses the mark, falls off the girls, grabs a feather til someone pecks him, then gives up. He's crowing more now, but just a few times a day. The neighbors dog has a low hound dog sounding howl.. and Barney crows in chorus with him 🤣

Busy with job interviewing, but I'll take new pics soon!
