Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Well the little pullet is doing better. The vet gave her some antibiotics.Prescriptions for anti-inflammatory pain medication by mouth and DMSO and dextrose via cloaca.
Her vent seems to be staying put for the most part. She is out now after being in the dark for 16 hours.Plan is if she does not continue to improve or if she keeps prolapsing then she’s going to have a suture placed to hold things in place.

She is a full older sibling to my Himawari.

I suspect Rooster has EL so I have now swapped out Rooster for Cookie and keeping watch because Biscuit and Cookie keep fighting - I'm assuming it's just working out pecking order arrangements but if they keep fighting or fighting leads to blood, one will have to go
Rooster was Not happy about being seperate, I may just have to cull him anyway but he is keeping one hen company at the moment.

I have one hen looking broody so I'll give her a few days and then add some eggs to her nest!! They should be fertile since Rooster is out and Biscuit and Cookie are on the job.

Ooowww.. good to see her up and about, hopefully she will recover well.

Amazing how chickens can actually get better from horrific injuries (like when I did bumble foot surgery! She laid an egg the same day like nothing happened!- but I tell ya, blood was everywhere! It was horrible!)

Yeah, I didn't think that high but I guess many cull roosters at an early age so don't know about fertility issues

She seems to be doing OK! But going over to tube feeding after discussing it with her vet, as she hasn’t eaten much of anything or drank much of anything for the past 24 hours. She did pick a little bit at her food and drink a little bit of water about an hour ago, but not enough to sustain her for the next 16 hours in the dark.
Waiting for her owner to come and assist in the tube feeding process. It is close to 6 PM here.(1800)
