I took 3 eggs away from her and she seemed to cover the 5 left ok but I had to put her on top of them! I don't think I'll have a good hatch rate... I'll candle in a couple days and see if any development and if none then I'll break her...
Some just seem to have the broody thing right from the start, some not at all and others take a couple goes to get better at it.

Hi guys! I love silkies! My only one at the moment is decidedly very tricky to sex: Does anyone have any wisdom to spare? S/he is a paint silkie almost 21 weeks old...no crowing, eggs, mating, tidbitting, clucking observed yet. Top of the pecking order in small bantam flock consisting of d'uccle, seramas, a mottled cochin, and easter eggers.

Cockerel.

Oh he's beautiful! I want him! He'd make some nice colour chicks! He has the fuller tail I love too :love
Have you used him for breeding?
Not yet. I think he has vaulted scull so I am considering things. Is there a chance the scull grew back? Because there is nothing soft on his head anymore

Im not sure about about sculls growing back 🤔 ... But if you pair him with non vaulted ladies then half chicks should be non vaulted?? - correct @LynnaePB / @LadiesAndJane ? Or something like that? .. he's too beautiful to not use for breeding! 😥 😄
