I'm seeing the orange colour leakage on the wings of one 6 week old chicks does this mean boy for sure since girls don't get the orange leakage? Or is it possible girls can get it too?

I had 2 NN girls with the orange leakage on the wings. if they are mixed colour chicks I guess your chick might be either boy or girl.

unfortunatelly I don't have them any more. they were hatched about 5 years ago.

Two more babies hatched today. They have the same dingy brown/grey coloring as the other chick.

I also checked on Elsa and her two chicks this morning. They are doing just fine in the brooder cage. The 3rd baby has never reappeared. I can only assume something got it and that's what drove Elsa onto the porch with the other 2 chicks.

More pictures of the first chick... I haven't moved the new chicks in with her yet because they aren't fully fluffed... I bet she will enjoy someone who tweets back instead of just her reflection. Little messmaker that she is....

You know I said I wanted a partridge Silkie really badly.... Could my little messmaker be one? She looks like she could brown out... But I was reading that most partridge chicks have stripes when they are born. That bummed me out because Blossom had a yellow chick with stripes that died because she kept stepping on it.
