Yall!!! After 2 days of hard rains the new coop is still bone dry!!! So I got the almost 5 week old babies moved into their new coop just now!
They finally calmed down after I got em all moved down there together! I'm soooooo excited and happy it's dry! They needed more room so badly! And they have tons of feathers and warmer weather for few days so they should be good!!!

Congrats on the new coop! Looks great!😊

I picked up my boy :yesss: he is not splash, he looks columbian! I am researching now how to breed him in order to get more columbians. it seems that I should breed him to a black hen then keep F1 girls and breed them back to him. I hope if I breed my blue girl to him that in a few years I might have blue columbian silkies.
Pics!? I love Columbian colours!

I wanted to make a coop for silkies today and it seems we are going to have rain today. and when we need rain we get zero and have to water our gardens for months.

We've been in the 50s at night and 60-70s during day. But gonna be cooler tomorrow so I'll put brooder plate out there that turns upright once they are past baby stage.

That's my plan too.. ill have to order a brooder plate online, they are all out of stock near me. I'm going to post the leveling job online.. maybe someone will work in a rain coat? 🤔 want my chickens in their new house!

It's definitely an ongoing project when ya got chickens! But I get soooo much enjoyment from just watching em!
My first chicks I got in May were on the garage floor so I wasn't able to work with them as much as I would have liked to....so these 8 have been at table height and they are soooooo sweet once they relax and let you hold em and pet em! Their little eyes close and Joey (little cockrel) luvs belly rubs!
I'm prayin my hubby will let me level our run so me and the chickens don't go stark raving mad from the coop being level and the run not LOL!
