Add a drop of nutridrench to its mouth, and the rest to the waterer. And dont stare at it 😆 you're going to drive yourself crazy. I had to give it its one drop, fix the water, then leave. I just made sure to help her get to the water here and there, but getting worked up will only cause anxiety for you and not help the chick at all (im speaking as a person who gets those phantom pains when i see people or animals in pain.. i know how youre feeling).
Ugh...I know there's the bad that comes with all this good they give us!
I have chronic health problems ...so maybe I'm thinking selfishly by not wanting to see if struggle?!
If yall are SURE it isn't suffering ill keep on as yall have said. I'm not getting any responses from others on either baby chicks struggling except for 2 people so feel very alone in figuring this out.
@LadiesAndJane has been amazing but she hasn't ever seen this problem either.

I would also give it time and vitamins. I have had several quail that were born and were barely making it. They had a tough time walking, they laid around a lot, everything they did seemed like a struggle and it was hard to watch. BUT I wanted to give them every chance and one of the worst I was sure I would lose or have to cull is now a beautiful healthy quail that crows with the best of them. It’s good you don’t want it to suffer, but I think it’s too soon to give up on it! Vitamins, straight in the beak and time! Give it lots of love and snuggles too 🥰

So sorry no one is responding on the emergencies thread.☹️
Also so sorry to read about your daughter and family. Having been through something similar myself many years ago, I sympathize.:hugs❤️

I would keep giving the chick nutradrench and the b-complex together. Is the little one with the bad leg eating and drinking on it's own?

Are u sure?! I just don't see this one not suffering.

I've seen this exact thing with a couple babies I've had. The legs are sort of too far forward and they really struggle walking at first and do that pathetic paddling motion with their legs as they try to get up. It isn't splay leg and I haven't found a hobble helps but just getting the legs into the proper position for a bit and helping it to take some steps may help. I've put them in a small container too so the legs couldn't go so far forward for awhile. I think the trick is just getting the legs into position and as that happens more and more they'll start to improve over time. The good news is this only lasted a day or two with mine that were also struggling this much and they were healthy and normal after with no trouble walking at all. 🥰

Not being able to walk properly I'm sure is a bit frustrating for the chick but I would absolutely give that little one time and it may be just fine. The nutradrench and vitamins and other things people have been suggesting sound like a good idea too. The hobble you've got on the little one with splay legs looks good to me too. Sometimes these little ones just take a bit of patience. I hope both will be up and about in no time! :fl
