I recently got eggs from Alabama silkie mama on facebook too https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=alabama silkie mama. Great packing job and I had a really great hatch for shipped eggs from the one group I've got so far. She's got some really lovely birds. If you are tight on money they are higher on price so something to keep in mind though. She has some really neat harder to find colors. ❤️
Oh I totally forgot bout her! Thanks for reminder!!! My DH said I could get more satin eggs from Fielder Farms in AL so they'll be here next week!
I better wait on this chick til next time lol!
pulling too many feathers out
Well Grayson and Joey (mostly Grayson) are like grabbing a mouthful of feathers from head or tail and hanging on as the girls run around the run!
No blood thankfully BUT the most horrible screams you have ever heard! I hate it!
just read about Esmeralda being egg-bound, I'm so sorry! I'm glad she is acting normally and I hope things go well with her. :fl
How is Esmeralda @AngBantamLuv ???

So.. no egg ever passed, but she is pooping again.. i wonder of maybe she had one of those instances where the egg yolk pops, because she was acting sickly and i did see bits of yellow. Its possible the others ate anything that might have been cracked.

Shes always calm, so its hard to say what her energy level is actually like but she's walking around with the others and eating/ drinking. I think she's better though, no sitting in a corner sleeping. Hoping nothing else is going on.

Well atleast she's better and back to normal...hopefully that's it.

I've never seen chickens that look like this before. How are they made?
They are naturally like this. They are a bird from asia and are considered a delicacy for both meat and eggs there. There are other birds that do have recessive silkie feathers as well.

Wow, that's so neat! But there are no wild types of this chicken,
Well, i think all types of chickens are considered domesticated... maybe some of the jungle birds are considered wild, but for the most part, they are all actually related.
