Ok so 4 months old now I haven't culled him yet thinking is there a possibility of him being a her at all!? His comb size isn't huge compared with my others but wattles came down early and poaiaboy saddle feathers too.. in these pics he's a little wet from the rain yesterday but today it's sunny so I'll go out later and take more pics but you can see comb in his wet pics and example of my pullet and hen comb too... Please excuse the soggy yukky ground, they have outside grass trees etc but hadn't ventured out there in a few days due to rain.
He is wet so feathers don't sit the well..

With the larger combs your girls sometimes get I am not very good at guessing.

Seems like there could be a chance of the little one being a pullet though, I hope so! :fl

I'm guessing that little cutie is recessive white. They often have some darker tint to the down and the wing feathers coming in that bright white support the recessive white theory. ☺️

I'll take a white satin girly!
Just can't believe I didn't get any buffs, red or along those colors!
What would one look like as a chick? Would the red be more apparent?

sleepy was stunted when she was a chick. But sleepys Brother is already crowing and they are the same age. The breeder who I got them from told me that there are two bones next to the vent that grow apart with Hens but with roosters your can only fit one finger between I was wondering if any would know if this is true. I love your silkies they are soo floofy.
here is a diagram that he sent me:View attachment 3070812
sleepys seemed very close together

never heard of it. but I do know when a hen is laying those 2 bones open and when she stops laying the bones close.

Hello Silkie Friends! Need a little advice, my Buff Silkie HenSolo started having trouble walking and started to loose her balance and now walks and falls over, I was told maybe its nutritional so she's on chick feed for the last 2 weeks and no change. Some say its Marek's but I'm really hoping not, any other ideas? or advice?

did you check her for parasites (worms, lice, mites)? any other symptoms?
