What's wrong with him may I ask?
We’re technically not allowed roosters 😅 So far no one cares, but Isa loves to sing a LOT lol. He’s also a bully and has a vaulted skull. I have another quieter (for now…) roo that’s just as pretty in a better colour for my breeding preferences. Currently we had 20 roos as of this morning and that’s just not in my budget to feed unfortunately. They’re currently eating about $25-$50 a week in feed depending on when I need another bag of crumble. That’s not counting the laying hens since they lay for their own feed right now

I found a great home for my cuddly guy too.. if you have one that's kid friendly, it's almost 100% chance rehoming will be easy. You definitely have a heart for them with 20! I only had 2 and rehomed. If i had acreage, it would've been different.

What are your plans with the remaining ones?

I just love all of them so much, you know how friendly those silly boys are! My husband is so sick of them in the house, but we raised each and every one in the kitchen, cuddle them daily… If I was rich, lived back on our farm, they could all stay. Feed prices are just out of control with this current market and we’re not well off, I never would have imagined chickens would be a luxury!

Roger is the BCM and top man of the blue layers coop, my goal is an olive egger project with them. Richard is a Welsummer and I hope as they get more comfortable free ranging, he’ll hit up a few of the ladies for those gorgeous speckles 🤞🏼 Karen and Kevin (yes, both roos lol) are the buff Polish, I probably should have let them go today too. They’re flying under the radar and not picked on, but starting to eye each other up I think. Little Boy Blue is going to hopefully make me some beautiful babies in the silkie pen. He and Thumbelina, my baby boy, my love bug porcelain D’Uccle, are not causing issues together yet. We’ll see how it goes since the main man was removed today. Jellybean is a bantam Cochin, who always flies right up to me if anything startles him. So obviously I couldn’t let him go yet 😅

I don’t want to let him gooooooo 😭 I spent hours creaming his bum, pushing it back in, washing poo off it 😭 Why is he such a turd???

He looks like a very cuddly fluffy who gets plenty of hugs 🤗
If I had extra cuddly ones I would find it hard to let them go too but the ones that aren't as friendly as Biscuit I have no problem saying goodbye. If any rooster I have in the future picks on Biscuit they will go.
Feed costs are a main factor in how many I would keep that don't have a job within the flock.

Broody Betty did a fantastic job hatching my Olandsk Dwarf eggs! 4 fertile eggs, 4 babies hatched and seemingly healthy! When I incubate them, I always lose at least half the babies during lockdown. I think having a broody Silkie or two is going to help a lot! 😍😍
