Hmm.. interesting about that fern plant. Can you post a pic when you get a chance? I WISH I had native poinsettia. Well, I do. The ugly all green weed looking one :barnie
Yes, I will get a photo of it tomorrow... another thing I have is hackberries in the back, aka huckleberries, but not enough to bother with, and a small black cherry tree I saved from being destroyed by kudzu..

Thank u....not nearly as good hatch as I normally have...so not sure if the heat wave we are in messed with em or what happened...
I'm told heat does affect hatch rate tremendously.. it's very taxing on momma along with her trying to incubate.. Poof Poof hatched 5 of 10 eggs, Mara hatched 3 of 18, and so on.. why did they wait so late in the year. Now Sara has just started sitting on Lord only knows what.

Hackberries and bindweed are my current nemesis. I've pulled what i can, and the roots that broke off will be poisoned when they come back up within the next few days. I am prepping everything for my native wildflower pollinator garden planting.

I have to go pick some elderberries off the bushes I've been cultivating since finding them on the property.. I'll clean the bugs off then create ice tubs with them in there.. Elderberries are super duper fruit!

flowers or berries? I know that flowers are super healthy but I heard that berries are toxic.

Go to the drug store and look for Sambuccol. https://share.upmc.com/2020/02/benefits-of-elderberry/
While the berries are very wholesome food, eating them green would be a problem, as well as the stems as they are on the toxic side..
Our family has been making pies, jellies, jams and even wine out of elderberries.
