Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Here is my 1st (hopefully of many Silkies) named Sassy. So much personality in such a small package!
1st pic was 2 wks old and the rest are now at 5 wks old

Anybody for one of those OH CHIT moments? Mr T, my indoor baby goes out during the day now.. he got brave and wanted to show off his stuff... needless to say he didn't stick around too long. He's an OEGB now nearing maturity.

Kai is now just over nine weeks. She is filling out so nicely. She still has only one little brown feather in her crest. I know it looks like she’s developing streamers but most of my pullets do this around this age as their crest starts to fill in.
I was expecting more leakage but I guess this is how she’s going to look. She’s a tiny little thing. Next to her 2 lb mama for comparison.
Last photo is of 3 week old Violet, the 3/4 Silkie 1/4 Ameraucana that we kept. Though I think Violet may be a boy! He is a sweetie.

I was walking past the big turnout pen just before dark when I was locking up the last of the 'big kid' pens.. First time I noticed that Red Cloud has blue ears.. She's an F1 cross between Gen Lee the partridge and a bantam BO. Kind of hard to see the blue at night under lights, but it is still somewhat visible. She's going in with Shadow Captain the calico splash when she comes of age.

Shadow Captain and Poof Poof the little black silkie have given me all blue and blue splash babies.. not a bit of red leakage on a single one.. I'm hoping for some smooth silkies with the calico pattern.. keeping my fingers crossed.. Here she is and her two sisters out of Turtle Dove that are going in with Shadow and Poof Poof. They are all F1.
