Here's a game. Which is full silkie and which is 3/4 silkie 1/4 bantam cochin. I didn't realize cochin mixed so well with silkie.

If I didn't have them all separated by pens and banded I wouldn't be able to tell. I was expecting hackle leakage on all of them.

The black silkie/cochin mother has a little hackle leakage and she was bred to a partridge rooster. All her babies are solid black. Here's the one satin feathered like her. It's the only boy.

Only the cross color silkie has any leakage. Black father by partridge mother. She's split for lavender.

The 3/4 silkies actually have a bit better of crests than the full silkie. I just can't get over the fact they look just silkie at this mix.

This is the half breed mother.

I am gonna say pullet A is the part Cochin! (I honestly have no idea )

All of them have decent ones. Im really surprised about it. Their mom has a decent one for being a crossbreed.

After getting coops refreshed today, I spent some time sitting in with the mom's and babies. Here are some F2 'sizzling babies' They are 6 and 4 weeks old from the same two F1 moms and General Lee.. 6 week olds are finally getting some head dresses.

Poof Poof the hatcher of the second batch of F2's had two hatches of her own eggs earlier.. Now 24 and 13 weeks old. I so am in love with this little pullet from the first hatch. She has a blue sister that is equally equally fuzzy.

A couple of pullets and one cockerel from the second hatch.. A blue boy, finally. First hatch all the boys were typical blue spashes.

From the top down you can see the white and black splashes in their coats.
