Hoping that last egg pips and for a successful hatching of all 5 eggs.

a few days ago my 2 broodies had a fight and I found cold eggs. I put them in incubator. when one broodie hatched 1 duch bantam I took the chick and gave her again 2 silkie eggs. yesterday another ex broody had a fight with the poor one and kicked out all 6 eggs (2 silkie) that she was sitting on. again the eggs cooled down. 1 (bantam) egg was smashed, 1 (silkie) egg was a bit cracked and 1 (bantam) early quitter. I took them and put in incubator. this morning finally both silkie eggs hatched :wee black beauties!

Eggs aren't done for until you've tried warming them back up and seeing if they keep developing.

Ive hatched cracked eggs in the incubator. Just carefully covered the cracks with wax. Accidents happen with broodies sometimes.

luckily that crack was minor and as it was supposed to hatch soon I didn't take care of the crack at all. I do have a cracked indian runner egg that I covered with wax.

I need to build maternity ward for my dutch bantams.

Seems the last chick hatched seems to have some mobility issues, and one of its legs is twisted, is this splay leg?

And should this be treated immediately? As in tonight? It was hatched around 5am this morning.

And some video of her

I'd hobble immediately. It may fix it. I can't tell if it's actually twisted. May just be splayed
