SILKIES ~ Updated pics on page17

I'm jumping back in on the thread....
love the pic of the feet...

are they the correct spacing on them or will they grow farther apart? or are they supposed to be farther apart?

I am so sad... but waking me up at 5:30 in the morning crowing, not good. I'm sure the neighbors will be thrilled. he is just as loud as any rooster I've heard. what he lacks in size he makes up for in attitude, short chicken syndrome... Out of the 7 silkies I started with I now have only one. she is going to be sooo sad when victor leaves today.

is she the only chicken? maybe you could get a started silkie for her, so then you know its a her??

they are so funny, in the evenings they want their lap time, so snuggle up in the blanket and sleep- they really are a totally different critter than i've ever experienced-

I've been handling mine a few times daily and they are 6.5 weeks old now...still really hate it...they get meal worms from me, gentle pets, etc...nothing, they still want nothing to do with me

have you tried sitting on the floor with them? i found that is a good way to get them to relax, not as threatening somehow- both of mine hate being picked up, but once i cuddle them, they settle down...
