Silkies

Hello!
I have raised a variety of chickens and ducks for a number of years but have settled into just keeping silkies for now. I am a first grade teacher and we hatch out eggs as part of our curriculum in the spring. I really love children to have the experience of seeing how a mother hen hatches out the eggs in comparison to how it is done with an incubator.
Unfortunately my silkie flock was substantially reduced this winter (due to predators) and I am down to two (broody) hens and one rooster.
We are scheduled to begin hatching on Tuesday, May 1st. I had hoped to hatch out some more silkies in order to replenish my flock but since my hens have both gone broody they are not currently laying! I am hoping someone may know where I might purchase some fertile eggs?
I would greatly appreciate any leads.

Welcome to backyard chickens! I have silkies too. They are an awesome breed! If you don't mind the poor quality of the silkies, many hatcheries sell fertile hatching eggs which can be shipped to you. You could check craigslist as well. If you would like show quality, here are some places:
