Any way to tell the sex of this chick ?
She is 6 weeks old

No way to tell at that age other then DNA testing.

I only have a few silkies as pets and don’t honestly know much about the breed other than the birds with big crests are prone to cranial hernia and the resulting wry neck. And that this takes a hell of a lot of determination from the bird and handler to get past it (yes I speak from experience) but anyway- I do know cockerels have what I call flyaway plumage (although I highly doubt that’s the correct term) on the back of their head. Females have a round pom looking head and males have some longer feathers sticking out further from all the rest I see that in at least one of yours here- the white one where you can see his profile. And they have the same type of thing going on in the tail. Although yours may be a tad young for that to start happening. With my silkies- some crowed gaily young. The roosters started acting like stereotypical roosters in the brooder with each other (jumping at and on each other, etc). I assumed males based on this in the first few weeks for two of four. And I was right. But I’m not a silkie expert by any stretch of the imagination. They are very difficult to positively sex until they crow or lay. Silkie breeders may have an entirely different take. If you present me a young serama I could tell you early but as far as silkies that’s all I got. Good luck and keep us posted! They’re beautiful!

I have a silkied serama named Jonny cash. He actually won a show last weekend. Naturally, he’s black.
