silkies

I have a few dark silkies from TSC and having never had silkies before want to know if there is a trick to telling pullets from roos? They are about 6 wks old and I sure as heck can't figure it out what with the dark comb. Thanks!

your going to have to wait another 3 months or so before sex can be determined or longer. Remember silkie are very hard to sex-what I have been told-wait till they crow or lay and egg :-(

i've heard that too, i have two, one seems sleepy alot- is that normal for silkies? she is also on the small side

Yeah, I thought that might be the case. Some of them do have more nose *wattle* delvelopment, thought that might be a clue. Guess not.

does she look healthy? does she gets vitamins in her water? poly-vi -vol--try some yogurt-mine love it-they are a week old

I feed mine the evening milking from my goats. They storm the door when they see me coming!! All my chickens love milk. Much better than dumping down the drain!
