Silkies

I don't have a lot of Silkies, just a pair, but they are out with my standard sized birds. Our little blue silkie hen isn't even at the bottom of the pecking order. She's just under the RIRs which are the top birds.

[Bat Cave Silkies]

My main flock is Silkies; I keep 7 other hens and 1 rooster to provide "eating eggs". I'd NEVER mix my Silkies with my layers; to me, there's too much of a personality difference and I'm afraid the Silkies would get the short end of the stick. Wouldn't want to risk my Silkies' brains either.
Just my opinion; I'm sure others mix without problem
