Silkies

I'm thinking of getting silkies to start up a flock. Are silkies good pets around ages 8-12 as good pets, if I decide to get them they around a lot of that age group. Is there any thing I should be concerned about when getting them. Are Silkies ok with being alone(meaning lots of human attention but not much chicken attention). Should you buy Silkie eggs, chicks, or adolescents. If there is any other information you can provide it is highly appreciated.

Silkies are supposed to be THE lap chicken. Havent had any first hand experience. Type silkie in the search bar and I'm sure youy will find what your looking for. I love the search bar
