Well, we thought we lost one of our girls. She kept getting out of her fenced in area. So we tried clipping one wing. Still got out. Clipped the other one (I know, I know). She still flew over the fence. Did not see her for about a week. Thought a hawk carried her off. One morning, I am feeding the chickens and there she is. You have probably guessed what she has been up to. I watched her so I could see where she was going. Of course she stayed and feasted. I finally had to go in the house. Went back a short time later and she was gone. I looked high and low for her. Finally found her tucked under some pieces of plywood my husband has leaning against the garage under the carport. Sitting on eggs. Take a guess how many eggs that little brat had? Higher? 18! Yes, 18. She must have really wanted to keep her eggs. Of course I had to let her have them even though we just got 10 chicks from a teacher and just put another dozen in the incubator. They are the prettiest green eggs. We will see how she does. Might be timed about the same as the incubator we have going right now. I am going to be overrun with cute little chickies in a few weeks!
