i opened the coop this morning, and they all came marching out like a troop of soldiers. as soon as they hit the ground, they were chasing after each other full force; heads down and wings out; feathers puffed out. they did this for a couple minutes, then went about their day. guess they had some energy to get out
Because we're up before the sun every week day morning, we always have the coop door open before our flock is even thinking about getting off of their roost. However, on weekends, we tend to sleep in until at least sunrise. So by the time we open the coop door, everyone is awake and they do the same things....usually plowing over each other just to get out of the pop hole and then running and flying up and down the run like they've been shot in the @$$.
