Hello all!
I have had two gorgeous American Pekins for pets in my backyard since April.
Once they outgrew the chick feed, I started them on Mazuri Waterfowl feed which they LOVE! When I started buying the Mazuri from Cal Ranch, it was $35 for a 50lbs bag. Well the price got hiked up to $44 a bag now and I just can't justify it.
My dilemma is that, I have switched them to an all flock layer food cut with some cracked corn and they HATE BOTH! They both will actually stuff their hungry little faces in a handful I offer them, and then spit them out?! I had no idea ducks could be this picky. Maybe I just have them spoiled rotten.
I was hoping I could get some advice about how to remedy this issue. Are there other brands of food I can try? Other way to get them used to the new food? Or do I just leave it and hope they get hungry enough to deal with it?
Any help would be appreciated. I wouldn't be so worried, except that it is the middle of the winter and I know they need the extra calories. I live in a milder climate so its not as bad as it could be but......you know....a duck mommy worries.
