Silly Question - but can chickens have jerusalem artichokes?

I told my husband he needs to make me a green house so i can feed my babies fresh garden stuff year round. You should of seen the look on his face... LOL.. too funny!

Thanks for the great ideas! I have a lot of work ahead of me before this darn winter comes.. I MISS SUMMER!!

These are an excellent, high yielding fodder crop. If you have pigs, sheep or cows, consider planting an acre. That could yield up to 15 tons which would overwinter 5 cows for you.

I have goats, sheep, mini horses, and i am getting 2 pigs over the weekend.. Will they eat them? Do u know?

Of course goats will eat them! Sheep will eat the tops off them but generally won't dig them entirely up. That's where the pigs come in... or a plow.

My boss just piled a bunch on my desk and I know I wont eat them all so i was just wondering if anyone knows if they can eat them? I was going to boil them up so they are soft for them.. Any thought?

Also thinking of planting it near their coupe.. Can they eat the plants?

Just wondering....
In my experience they love the greens. I dunno about the tubers, though.

Turnips and sunflowers are also good to plant, protect and then let the chickens in on.
