my husband asked me last night if we should just have 5 chickens all the same breed, or should we have one or two different breeds to make up the five.
I didn't want to scare him right off, so I said, "no honey, 4-5 of each breed to make to make 25 chickens total should be just fine!"
what a silly question. 5 chickens? 5 chickens? really now. I'm having him build a 10x18 coop with 6 nesting boxes (see my page) and nearly 2 acres to free range and he expect me to be satisfied with f-i-v-e chickens. and he's the math whiz in the family.
