Silly Silkies!!

Someone please explain my silkies to me....



Why do they stand out in the rain????

I think they might not be as smart as some other chickens.... I don't know. Mine constantly walk into things.

I have a bunch of chickens that sit outside in the rain...i don't know why though...

My Orpingtons zoom to the henhouse at the first sign of rain. My Silkies? Birdbrains. Soaked through. They look so pathetic drenched!!

Oh Silkies, they are an interesting breed. We have 2 in our flock and one who appears to be a runt (don't know if this exists in the chicken world) is our "special needs" chicken. She is constantly wandering down to the goats alone and she will just stand there and look at the goats. She is typically by herself and is not the brightest. My Roo Silkie stood out in the rain the other day and got to so cold I ended up chasing him down and putting him in the coop with the other girls so he wouldn't freeze to death. And I totally agree, they look so pathetic soaking wet!
