Hi! Hubby said 'brownies would be nice', tonight (??? we've been married 11 years, and I have never made brownies ???).
The only chocolate in the house is a handful of Reece cups and a box of Swiss Miss cocoa mix in the freezer (we aren't usually sweet-eaters), so I thought I'd see what I could throw together
I mixed...
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick oats
3/4 cup+ whole wheat flour
1/3 cup olive oil
1 bantam egg
1/3 tsp salt
1/3 tsp+ baking soda
and I added a splash of maple syrup (I went to the frig for vanilla, but I'm out of vanilla extract, too).
Added 1 package of cocoa mix and a handful of mashed Reece cups (6?).
Mixed well and pressed into a 10" cast-iron skillet.
Baked 18 minutes at 350 degrees.
They looked 'brownie-ish' coming out of the oven.
Hubby pronounced them a 'keeper', so I'm writing down the recipe before I forget
It's oats, whole wheat flour, and olive oil, so it can't be too bad, right?
